Incorrect installation, thermal conductivity and time lag are the main errors of armored thermocouple in use.
For example, the installation position and insertion depth of armored thermocouple cannot reflect the real temperature of furnace, in other words, armored thermocouple shall not be installed too close to the door and heating place, and the insertion depth shall be at least 8-10 times of the diameter of protective tube; The gap between the protective sleeve and the wall of the armored thermocouple is not filled with insulation material, which causes the hot overflow or cold air invasion in the furnace. Therefore, the gap between the protective tube of the armored thermocouple and the hole of the furnace wall shall be blocked with insulation material such as fire-resistant mud or asbestos rope to prevent the cold and hot air convection from affecting the accuracy of temperature measurement.
The cold end of armored thermocouple is too close to the furnace body to make the temperature exceed 100 ℃; the installation of armored thermocouple should avoid strong magnetic field and strong electric field as much as possible, so armored thermocouple and power cable should not be installed in the same conduit to avoid interference and error; Armored thermocouples can not be installed in the area where the measured medium has little flow. When using armored thermocouples to measure the gas temperature in the tube, the armored thermocouples must be installed against the flow direction and fully contacted with the gas.
